Beans and ex-boyfriends
This past Saturday, we were delighted to play at the Hoopla Pre-Party! Despite only being on stage for 12 minutes, we were able to tell the story of a humble bean merchant and what happened when her previous lover came to town.
Starting with the suggestion of a grocery store, we met Mandy, the proprietor of her very own Bean Emporium. When her ex-boyfriend came to town, there were hopes of a reunion until his new girlfriend entered the store… yikes!
This quest for love and one-upmanship (i.e. look how good I am without you) was underscored by a true desire for a reunion that never happened. We also talked a lot about Chinese beans and how truly difficult they are to procure – what a show!
We had a great time & loved performing alongside Nerd Salad, The Runaways Improv, The Parentheticals, Foreverland, The Happiest People in the World and First Dates!
